View of Ettal Monestary. Monks live here and make beer apparently. Our German teacher grew up here as a boy in boarding school.
Jared, Danya, and Karsten in front of a church. We ate lunch here (at the cafe next to the church) also.
Fly on at the base of the drain in a urinal. Every now and then in Germany, they have little "cartoons" in the urinals to teach kids where to aim. I have seen a fly and a candle so far. It is dangerous to chronical these.
Horses' rear view of the road to Neuschwanstein castle.

Jared, Karsten, and me headed back to the car.
Jared, Danya and Karsten in front of the frozen lake. Kids were playing hockey on the lake.
Me with Karsten not long after we picked them up from the airport. This is outside Munich where we ate lunch.
Karsten on the plane ride over the ocean. He looks to be doing okay at this point.
Karsten meets the giant nutcracker, or the Sgt at Arms of the city.
In the most random chance meeting of the batch, Lisa meets Laura Bush. She (Laura Bush) came to Ramstein. This picture was also in a half page, full color spread in the German newspaper.
Hall ceiling of my youth comes down. Mom and dad are remodeling the hall. I got them a digital camera for a combination of birthdays, etc so they are chronicaling the experienc.
Interesting juxtaposition of cars, don't you think?
The Amsterdam short bus.
Going into the Anne Frank house.
This one is a Henlsey special! Go Rainbow Wranglers!
The coffeeshops here smell like they are burning leaves. Seriously. Apparently the Coffee shops sell drugs and the cafes sell coffee. Try figuring that one out.
Lisa as we were walking to the Van Gogh museum.
I am not making this up.
Holland resembles a giant miniature golf course.
There was an old lady......
Me in my wooden shoes. I chose these because they match my coffee table.
The way they clean out the foot holes (technical term) of the wooden shoe. Or it could be a robot, lying on its back wearing wooden shoes.
Wooden cowboy boots. These were over 100 years old. Terimite free.
Wooden show raw material. In Holland, they wear wooden shoes because they are sturdy, water resistent, and hold up well in marshy conditions. Or it could be that they wear wooden shoes because drugs are legal there.
Joy with two Hummel dolls we got her for her birthday
Me with a piece of a spacecraft that crashed at Area 51. Actually, it is a really nice drawing that Lisa's sister Cynthia did for me for my birthday. The picture of it didn't take so well.
Me with a nice picture that Lisa's sister Cynthia made me for my birthday. It didn't come out so good in the photo.
"Reunited and it feels so good..." I finally got some new smart mass for my birthday. Smart Mass is thinking putty, a scientifically engineered productivity enhancer or adult silly putty as Lisa calls it.
Me with a new shirt I got for my birthday.
The Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty (or SOL for typing sake) looks smaller because New York is farther away than Paris from us.
A view of Notre Dame cathedral from a boat on the Seine (or the inSeine, for the 3 stooges fan out there) river.
Lisa and Joy in front of the Eiffel tower at night.
Bob and Joy taking a stroll down the Champs du Mars.
The whole clan at the Eiffel tower in Paris.
Bob and Joy at Dachau concentration camp.
Bob and Joy at Weiskirche, a church in the middle of nowhere.
Bob and Joy at Neuschwanstein Castle.
Lisa and Bob in front of a mountain. Could be the same mountain as in the other pictures, could be a different mountain. There were a whole range of mountains present.
Bob and Joy getting ready for a car ride. the snow was around 4 feet deep.
Bob and Joy with a mountain in the background. The Eidleweiss resort is nestled (great place to use nestled) in the mountains.
Lisa looking all romantic. I don't know what she was doing looking romantic as I wasn't there.
Bob and Joy enjoying a nice breakfast. Is that nearest tray for me? Thanks guys!
Lisa's mom and dad come for a visit. This is them relaxing at the Eidleweiss (pronounced Eidleweiss) resort. Or they could be at Cracker Barrell.
These girls didn't know this guy. They were just sticking stickers on his back for fun. This is before he realized it.
Guy riding a barrel float. Always a crowd favorite.
Giant children stealing giant statue coming down the parade route, notice the real, live children in the bucket.
Party van in the parade. Kaaft ZUG means "traveling guy with a horn" in German.
A "party van" in the parade. Kaaft ZUG apparently means "traveling guy with a horn".
Herr and Frau Grant from our German class. Lisa went to a Fasching parade with them. I have found that if you know you are gonna be sad (lent) might as well be happy first (fasching).
