Home

I had to go and work in the states for a couple of weeks and was able to work in a short trip home. Here are those adventures.

More visitors

Grandmama and John were nice enough to make the drive. We all had a good time visiting.

Friends and Family

One of my disappointments with such a short trip home was that I wasn't going to get to go to Covington to see my old buds. But they were nice enough to come and see me!

New Wheels

While I was home, Michael got a new car that he is going to finish fixing up and sell to his older brother :).

California Here I come

One of my favorite places I have visited since working in Europe is sunny California.

Seals (or Sealions)

While Jane and I were out sightseeing, we came across these. I would think Heidi Klum would have better taste.

Air Force Academy

This is the chapel on the campus of the Air Force Academy. It was really neat and a really neat campus. They also had a really neat gift shop at which I got a really neat discount. Thanks Uncle Sam!

Pike's Peak

Saturday was a beautiful day in Colorado but I decided to shop and wait to go up Pike's Peak until Sunday. Saturday night saw the first snow of the year on the peak. Won't be open again till April they said. Anyway, I got to go halfway up for half price. Not a bad deal.

Fuel Efficiency

I know minivans (the rental car that I had) are fuel efficient, but Colorado Springs to the North Pole on 1/4 tank of gas!

Funny Sign

Not much else a big rock is good for, although this one looks like a trap.

Feet in famous places

My feet in Garden of the Gods park, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Indian Trail

This sure was a nice trail if they used it way back then.

Purple Mountain Majesty

I took probably 500 pictures of mountains in various poses. There are not a lot of poses mountains can be in, but they are pretty good at being lofty. Here were a couple of the better ones.

Garden of the Gods

The bad thing about traveling by yourself is that it is up to you to go sightseeing by yourself. When I seen a sign like "Garden of the Gods", I'm thinking "Giant ears of corn". No luck, not even regular ears of corn. Just rocks.

Space Wackos

These were two of the people that I worked along side when I was in Colorado Springs. I finally drove them crazy with USAFE goodness!

Model Rockets

In the hall of the building that I was working in, they had all these model rockets and spacecraft. Every couple of hours, the let everone away from their desks to play with them.

I catch the rains down in Africa

Since we were in Spain over the weekend and you can literally throw a rock (really hard) and hit Africa from there, we decided to go. This was our first trip to Africa. Nice place to visit.
