This is apparently the theater where they hold the Cannes film festival. This is a film festival devoted to films that feature cans, i.e. The Jerk ("They hate the cans!").
On our three hour tour of Lavendar fields on our way back to the Autobahn, we went through Le Grande Canyon (literally The Grand Canyon). It wasn't much of a canyon (more of a gorge) and it wasn't really grand. The whole thing was about three miles long but the road was so twisty that the actual distance was 50 miles.
The lavendar fields were so relaxing, the bees wouldn't even sting you. They would say "hey man, it's cool. we just need to get along". That is one laid back bee.
The French Riveria is apparently famous for two things, nude beaches and lavendar fields. We took a short (read: three hour) detour on the way home to see these. Lavendar does NOT make you feel more alert when driving.
We stopped in a little French town for lunch on the way back. We were all tired and just wanted a bite. These guys apparently don't get too many visitors as they proceeded to serve us the most food I have ever seen.
Our friends the Wrights moved back to the states a couple of months ago. This is a picture of their going away party. They are missed, especially since one house is out of rotation for survivor night.
