Sun Goes Down

The sun goes down in the west in Spain and comes up in the east in America. This is taken on the Atlantic coast of spain, near Rota.

Olive Tree

Olives are NOT GOOD straight off the tree. They also don't come "pre-pimentoed".

Culinary Spain

Lisa and I went out to dinner one of the last nights we were in Spain. We went to the beach and decided to get some seafood. I asked for a seafood suggestion and it was suggested that I have the grilled squid. I had never had grilled squid, it could be the best thing ever. After learning how to "de-beak" it, I proceeded to eat the squid. This squid must have died with an ink pen in its mouth, because, although "field dressed", there was quite a bit of ink left. Apparently, it is non-toxic.

Corfu, Greece

Corfu, Greece. The last port (if you don't count coming back into Venice) was Corfu. Before this trip, I thought Corfu was a martial art. Boy, was I wrong, although the people who live there are quite scrappy. Enjoy!

Monestary

We were able also to visit an old monestary. The three bells are for the Trinity. They also made wine, soap, and butter. Butter and soap are easily confused.

Boat Trip!

It was neat that we got to take a boat trip. The boat in this picture is obviously not the one we were in. We got to float around and go into caves.

Fake looking blueness (a good name for a band)

 

 

The blueness of this water is not a camera trick. It's where the Corfu sewer comes out and everyone is using that blue dye in their toilets. That, or some kind of light refraction.

Red Algae

Check out the red line on the wall. It is from some kind of algae or mineral deposit that is deposited between water levels.

Cool, Clear Water

What was really crazy was how clear the water was. You still couldn't drink it, no matter how much you wanted to.

Corfood!

 

 

Corfu had some really prety scenery. The picture at the topleft was taken from a public (as in a field) toilet.

And so the sun sets (or rises) on our vacation. Next up, Spain, Gibralter, and Morocco.

Crete, Greece

Our next port of call was Crete. We elected not to take a tour and just see the island on our own. We saw a lot and got a lot of cool stuff (magnets, olive oil, etc). We also were able to make our first Greek beach visit here. Enjoy!

Old men enjoy sitting around, I don't care where you are.

Crete had a great market. I'm still enjoying her olive oil today.

I think the guys over our shoulder are talking about us.

Creten L'amour!

At the beach, most people don't wear their swimsuits there. This is where you change.

Crete had great beaches and what is vacation without a beach. So we swam a little.

Crete was a great stop. In the end, we didn't take a tour but still had a blast. Next Stop - Corfu!
