Not much I can say here. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Beatrice opening the baptismal gown that Lisa and her mom got her for Christmas. It looks a bit long to me.
A cool bridge you cross coming back from Meymac, France.
Jan being contemplative or so i thought. He is really holding John Owen in his jacket to keep him from freezing while overlooking Strausburg.
Everyone in front of the Strausburg Cathedral.
This is in front of the Cathedral in Strausburg.
The whole clan in Strausburg, which I still haven't been to. I also haven't been to Hidelburg, which I also hear is nice. Pretty soon, these places will be like Graceland. Somewhere that Lisa has been a hundred times but I have never been to.
All of us eating at the "new erwin's" They even have a "play area". (not that i wouldn't happily eat at the real Erwin's if it were closer).
Jan and Nicole in snowy Metz, France looking for food.
Lisa trying to talk Nicole out of her hood and scarf.
Jan extorting money from me.
Jan atop the Eiffel Tower. I would like to tell you we climbed the whole way, but we rode an elevator the whole way.
A good image looking down from the Eiffel Tower towards the Tracadero.
John Owen sleeps his way through Europe. He should write travel books for one year olds. "keep your sassie handy, because if you drop it in Paris, there's no five second rule", etc.
What could happen to you if you stick your hand in an elevator door.
Lisa and Me on the Champs Elysses!
Nicole with the Eiffel Tower in the Background overlooking the Seine River.
Marla, Nicole, John Owen and Jan at the Trocadero in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Lisa and I at the Trocadero in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Me with the Man with Cow statue. I took this same picture ten years ago when I was in Paris. Man with cow has been a running theme in my life.
Lisa and Jan in line at the base of the Eiffel Tower. We were passing the camera around at this point.
Lisa and I in line at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
Lisa with a picture that was drawn of her under the Eiffel Tower.
Lisa in line at the midway point up the Eiffel Tower.
Arc de Triomphe in as seen from the top of the Eiffel Tower. The large street running under it is the Champs Elysses.
Notre Dame as seen from the top of the Eiffel Tower. It is the large structure in the center of the image.
Sacre Coeur as seen from the top of the Eiffel Tower. It is the big domey looking thing in the center of the picture.
People feeding birds outside of Notre Dame. The birds were eating out of the people's hands.
Everyone in front of Notre Dame. Notice how it is white. They have been sandblasting it and we almost walked by it because it used to be almost pitch black.
Stained glass windows and an altar in Notre Dame.
Quasimodo. They put this sculpture in way later than the Catedral was built because of the popularity of the book. Soon after this photo was taken, I had a full conversation in French with a bystander. She asked "Ou est Quasimodo?" to which I replied "Right Yonder" and she understood.
Lisa, Jan, and John Owen across the river from Notre Dame Cathedral. John Owen doesn't look worried about Jan holding him up at above bridge rail level.
Lisa and I with Notre Dame Cathedral in the background. We were across the river from the Catedral. Jan stood in traffic to take this picture.
The mosiac over the altar at Sacre Couer Cathedral in Paris. This is our favorite place in Paris. No jokes or anything. It is very reverent.
The Eiffel Tower being hit by "a beam from outer space".
The "pyramid" that is the entrance to the Louvre. This is the best picture I have taken I must say, and it was taken at full sprint.
Famous scupture by a famous dude.
This is Jan, Lisa, and Marla in front of the Mona Lisa (the picture in the background). Just over Jan's right shoulder there is a sign that says "Absolutely no pictures".
Jan and Marla with the Venus de Milo. She didn't say much besides "Where are my arms?" and "Give me a robe please."
Lisa in front of the Eiffel tower at night. Soon after this picture was taken, she was hit in the face with a pie.
The Eiffel Tower at night. Lisa and I went down for the real Paris after dark. We also picked up two for one fiber optic crystal eiffel tower desk monuments.
Gold spikey thing on top of the Opera in Paris. I don't know what the significance is. I just think it's a good picture of a shiny object.
Galeries Layfayette. This is not the Layfayette that is a suburb of Nashville. This is the "Macy's" of Paris, with much goodness to be had.
A window display in Paris. I don't know if they're selling balls or dresses.
I looked up and saw this after eating a special "mushroom" dish in France. In real life this is a Christmas light display.
A toy display that we saw while we were shopping. I got hypnotized and separated from the crowd.
Marla Phillips in front of a pharmacy. There doesn't appear to be a front door on this pharmacy, which is why America is so much better than France.
John Owen is facinated with switches. He turned the lights on and off about a hundred times. It was like watching a movie in slow motion in the cabin.
Lisa and John Owen. This picture was made on the train ride back from Paris. Notice the "zombie" look on his face.
Me getting the "tickie tickie tickie" from John Owen. It is the sound he makes when he tickles you.
